It’s nearly time for the big family event in Worthing – oh no it isn’t……oh yes it is!
Jack and the Beanstalk is this year’s fabulous festive offering at the Pavilion Theatre, and I’ve no doubt that it will be just as fantastic as previous years. There’s a great cast, featuring some familiar names as well as some exciting new faces:
Flavia Cacace-Mistry stars at the Fairy. Flavia is a Strictly Come Dancing legend, thanks to her sharp moves and Argentine Tango prowess. She’s found a new way of life with husband Jimi Mistry, who she met on Strictly. The couple now run a farm and could be found in Worthing recently talking about their new adventure.
Katie Pritchard makes a very welcome return to Worthing and is playing the character of Jack. Katie will be familiar to many from her star turns in Cinderella, and Beauty and the Beast last year when she charmed the audience as one half of comedy duo Phillipe Philop. Away from panto, Katie has a successful career in comedy and recently completed a very popular run at the Edinburgh Fringe. Not only does she bring her humour and energy to the role, but also a cracking set of pipes for belting out the show tunes.
Also returning is boy band heart-throb Mark Read, who is famous for his career with A1. Following his popular turn as the Prince in Cinderella, Mark takes on the role of the Prince again.
Children’s TV and local legend Dave Benson-Phillips is starring as the King, which I think is my own personal favourite casting! Having grown up in the era of gunge, DBP is a proper hero and a genuinely nice guy.
Brian Blessed. Do I need to say anything more?! Brian, the giant of stage and screen, is lending his mighty voice to the Giant. What could be a more perfect casting?
Jack and the Beanstalk is playing at the Pavilion Theatre from 1st December through to 2nd January. Tickets are available at the Box Office or online. Check out the Golden Week offer for performances in the first week!
