We had a brilliant time at The Historic Dockyard Chatham last summer, there was a fantastic range of activities on offer for young and old!
We can’t wait to go back again this year, here’s a sneaky peak at what’s going to be on offer:
A HUGE beach including traditional beach huts, deck chairs and plenty of sand! The beach will be filled with nostalgia from the British seaside holidays of the 70s & 80s. If you’ve forgotten your bucket and spade you can get one for free when you buy a kids’ meal at the restaurant.
Reminiscing back to those wonderful weekends away to the coast, – socks and sandals ARE permitted!
Once you’ve soaked up some sun and made the perfect sandcastle, why not join our resident scientists “Doc and Bunsen” up on the Mezzanine Pier for the ‘Science of Superheroes’. With lots of activities and a show for families of all ages, you’ll see amazing experiments such as the ’Amazing Moving Hand’, the ‘Strongest Child in the World’ and the ‘Incredible Hulk’s Intestines’. See Bunsen charged with 100,000 volts of electricity and test your strength on Doc’s latest invention – It’s the greatest Show, Man!
The latest exhibition from the V&A Museum of Childhood, A Pirate’s Life For Me, is at the Dockyard for the whole summer as its first stop on a National tour! It’s the perfect day out for families to explore the history and impact of Pirates in popular culture from Victorian Britain to the present day, through displays including toys, books, costumes, illustrations, games and photographs. The exhibition’s immersive and playful set designs lead its young visitors on a perfect Pirate journey – once you’ve learnt the skills to sail a ship, visitors can then go on board a real Ship at the Dockyard and experience real life on the ocean waves!
These activities will be running from the 27th July to the 1st September and there’s a fab ticket offer. With every full paying adult/concession ticket, a child will qualify for a child ticket at £1.
Please note the “Kids for a Quid” offer runs from 15th July – 1st September and is an online only offer. One full paying adult/concession ticket allows one child entry at £1. Further terms and conditions apply.
