Going to the theatre as a family has given us many happy memories over the last few years, and it’s one of the things that I have really missed since lockdown. I’m so pleased that our local theatres are starting to open up again, and although we won’t be going to panto this year, there’s some great festive offerrings opening up.
One of these is Dear Santa, at the Minerva Theatre which is part of Chichester Festival Theatre. From the mind of Rod Campbell (who created Dear Zoo), this show is perfect for children aged 2-7.
Santa is determined to deliver the Christmas present to our little hero Sarah. But he doesn’t get it right straight away! With the help of his cheeky Elf, he finally settles on something ‘perfect’, just in time for Christmas Eve.
All the ingredients of Rod Campbell’s ingeniously simple and charming style are brought to life on stage, plus a whole lot more, with music, laughter and plenty of audience participation. There’s also a chance to meet Santa after the show!
The theatre will conform to social distancing and Covid secure safety measures. The shows runs from the 5th to 24th December. Tickets are £15, and you can claim half price tickets for four children aged under 16 with every full price paying adult.
