I think I may have reached the pinnacle of my blog reviews already – who doesn’t want cake that comes through your letterbox?!
bakerdays is a great website where you can create and personalise an amazing range of cakes, cupcakes and helium balloon. There are loads of designs, sizes and flavours to choose from and you can include a photo or special message. There are gluten free, wheat free and dairy free options so they really do cater for everyone.
I have to say I was quite cynical about how receiving a cake in the post would work, however everything went according to plan! I ordered an ‘any age flower number cake’ in the small size, with a traditional sponge flavour. This has lovely purple flowers making up the numbers, and then matching purple lettering for your message. As it’s my sister’s 40th birthday soon, I chose to celebrate on her behalf! You can specify which date you want your gift to arrive, and next day delivery is available if you order before 2pm on a weekday.
When the cake arrived, it was packaged in an outer cardboard box, which fitted perfectly through the letterbox. Inside there is a cute round metal tin which houses the cake, plus a personalised card and ingredients listing.
The cake looked very professional, and certainly to a standard that I couldn’t achieve myself! It had a lovely thick layer of white icing, and the sponge itself was a good 5cm thick. It was a very tasty cake and went surprisingly far considering its petite size.
Weekend and worldwide delivery is also available, so it would make a great gift option for someone far away (or if you happen to forget a special day!)
I’ve entered. I turn 30 in about 6 weeks so if I win I don’t have to share, right? 😉
It is actually in the conditions of the competition, that if it is for your 30th birthday, you don’t have to share!
These look really good, even better that they have allergy free ones. What a lovely surprise to receive one of these through your letterbox on your birthday 😊
It would be a lovely surprise. Hint hint!
