So far, my two children haven’t had any major accidents that have required trips to A&E but they’ve both had their fair share of things requiring first aid. This has meant keeping both my first aid kits at home and in the car well stocked, as well as go-to products to take out in the bag for days out.

Here are my current favourites:

Organii Cotton Patches

Organii organic children's patchesThese are plasters, but made from cotton rather than conventional ingredients. They are dermatologically tested and have a 100% cotton pad and 78% cotton backing. They’re suitable for vegans and don’t contain any pesticides. A packet has 20 individually wrapped patches sized 7cm x 2cm, with a bright blue animal pattern.

My kids are obsessed with plasters and these are no exception! What’s great with these patches is that they don’t leave a horrible red patch on the skin when you (finally) take them off. The animal pattern means that they’re suitable for boys and girls, so no fighting about who gets to have them!

You can buy the patches on the Organii website.

Organii Arnica Gel

Organii arnica gelI’m surely not the only parent whose kids come home from school or nursery with bruises all over? I use the Organii Soothing Arnica Gel on bruises overnight, to soothe and help them heal quicker. It’s certified organic by the Soil Association with 95% organic ingredients (excluding water). The tube is a handy size to carry in a bag and I find it’s also great for tired feet (mine!). It spreads nice and thinly so you don’t need to use much.

You can buy the Arnica Gel on the Organii website.

St John’s Ambulance First Aid Kit

St John's Ambulance First Aid KitI got one of these for my mum to have at her house so that she’s got everything to hand when looking after my two. It’s got all the products you’d need for minor injuries as well as some cute bravery stickers. What’s brilliant though is the information booklet which has advice for first aid from small accidents through to more life threatening issues. It’s great to have everything in one place so if it is needed, you’ll remember where the advice booklet is!

The first aid kit is available to buy from Boots.
