Did you know that the first Horrible Histories book was published way back in 1993? (yep, I’m feeling old too). Author Terry Deary has been fascinating readers for 25 years with tales of battles, tyrants and murders, the more horrible the better! With other 25 million copies sold in 40 languages, children all over the world have been delighted and disgusted by their ancestors’ exploits.
Now you can see the action right in front of you with two new Horrible Histories Live On Stage shows.
There’s the Terrible Tudors, where you can take a trip from the horrible Henries through the end of evil Elizabeth and hear the legends (and the lies!) about the torturing Tudors. Discover the fate of Henry’s headless wives and his bust up with the Pope, and will you survive the Spanish Armada as it sails into the audience?!
The Awful Egyptians invite you to gasp at the power of the pyramids, meet the fascinating Pharaohs and discover the foul facts of death and decay with the meanest mummies in all of Egypt. It’s the history of Egypt with all the nasty bits left in!
History is really brought to life with amazing 3D effects called Bogglevision! The audience will see the Spanish Armada firing cannonballs into the auditorium and the Egyptian Mummy reaching out to grab them!
The shows are recommended from age 5 and performances take place across the UK. If you’re down South you can catch both shows at the Worthing Pavilion Sat 4th – Sun 5th May.
